Mondō is a curatorial studio in London, founded in 2023. We search out archive designer pieces — the rare, the considered, the singular — and bring them back into the world to be worn again. The clothes are gathered slowly, from around the world, and chosen one by one. Nothing is reproduced; each piece is the only one we hold.
The name carries two meanings. In Japanese Zen, mondō is the exchange of question and answer; in Italian, mondo means world. Together they describe what we hope to be — a place where cultures meet, and where a garment is the beginning of a conversation.
We believe a wardrobe is timeless. A piece made with intention outlives its season, and in new hands it lives another life. We are not chasing trends; we are drawn to things that were made well, and to the people who will care for them next. That is the whole of what we do — to keep good clothes in the world, cared for, and worn.
Sourcing & condition
Garments are sourced individually from private wardrobes and collections. Selection is based on cut, construction, material and condition.
Each piece is inspected, measured and cleaned where appropriate. Designer, season and materials are recorded when known; alterations, wear and faults are noted in the listing.
The community
Mondō began as a way to share what we love with people who feel the same. A community has grown around the studio — collectors, designers, stylists, and the quietly obsessed — bound by an attention to how clothes are made, and why the good ones last. We would like archive fashion to be less rarefied and more alive: worn, talked about, and passed from one person to the next.
Alongside clothing, we support Eastern craftsmanship and the independent makers of small, personal things — a lighter, more considered way of living.
