About Mondō
Mondō is a curatorial studio in London, founded in 2023. We search out archive designer pieces — the rare, the considered, the singular — and bring them back into the world to be worn again. The clothes are gathered slowly, from around the world, and chosen one by one. Nothing is reproduced; each piece is the only one we hold.
The name carries two meanings. In Japanese Zen, mondō is the exchange of question and answer; in Italian, mondo means world. Together they describe what we hope to be — a place where cultures meet, and where a garment is the beginning of a conversation.
We believe a wardrobe is timeless. A piece made with intention outlives its season, and in new hands it lives another life. We are not chasing trends; we are drawn to things that were made well, and to the people who will care for them next. That is the whole of what we do — to keep good clothes in the world, cared for, and worn.
2023 Mondō
Mondō began with our interest in clothes, and in the designers and works that have shaped the way we see fashion. What started as collecting gradually became a process of searching, researching and returning to pieces from different periods — looking at how they were made, and why they can still feel relevant, wearable and worth appreciating today.

Pop-ups in London
In the beginning, Mondō appeared through a series of occasional pop-ups, each with a different theme and in a different part of London. From Marylebone to South Kensington and other corners of the city, we came to know London through Mondō. Each neighbourhood, space and encounter gave every temporary edition its own character — shaped by a particular time and place.

Archive Collection
Along the way, there were always pieces we found difficult to let go of. The Mondō Archive grew naturally from this instinct. We began keeping certain garments to study, wear and return to, tracing the ideas, craftsmanship and details of different designers and periods — and looking for what continues to resonate beyond its own time.

The Community
Through Mondō, and a shared sensibility and love for clothes, we have been fortunate to meet people whose paths might otherwise never have crossed — people working in fashion, photographers, artists, and many others from different fields drawn to similar things. Clothes became a starting point for getting to know one another, opening naturally into conversations, collaborations, creative projects and new encounters. Many of the most interesting connections have grown from there.

2026
Mondō Studio
Entering our third year in London, Mondō opened its first permanent space within an artistic community in Shoreditch.
Like Mondō itself, the Studio has taken shape gradually. It brings together the collections, work and travels that have accompanied us along the way, as well as years spent observing fashion, design and objects. Things once scattered across different times and places now have somewhere to meet and remain.
We continue to look for designs that are not bound to a particular moment — craftsmanship, style and individual expression that endure through time. Through seeing, touching and wearing clothes, we hope the Studio offers a space to return attention to the garment, and to the person wearing it.
