Comme des Garçons 2000FW “Hard and Forceful” Runway Ruffle Suit

From Comme des Garçons’ Fall/Winter 2000 “Hard and Forceful” collection, in which Rei Kawakubo disrupted traditional tailoring with punk references and extravagant cascades of ruffles. This black pinstripe runway suit contrasts a sharply tailored three-button jacket and slim trousers with dense layers of raw-edged and eyelet ruffles extending around the jacket hem and down the outer legs, deliberately colliding masculine suiting with exaggerated feminine decoration.
