Comme des Garçons 2015SS “Blood and Roses” Ruched Strap Dress

From Comme des Garçons’ Spring/Summer 2015 “Blood and Roses” collection, in which Rei Kawakubo explored the tension between beauty and violence through an entirely red palette. This black interpretation translates the collection’s sculptural language into a more wearable dress, with densely ruched satin panels gathered and suspended by exposed vertical straps across the lower body. The cascading folds echo the rose-like forms that recurred throughout the collection, contrasting a simple T-shirt bodice with controlled volume and deliberate structural disruption.
